I am an ordinary woman, wife and mom. My faith and family are of most importance to me on this journey I am embracing. A journey that takes me through the good, the bad and the difficult, the ups and the downs along the way, and what keeps me going. A trail running mom on the path to run 100 miles! I truly believe that EVERY STEP IS A BLESSING!
I am 53 and a mother of three (2 grown daughters and a 17 yr old son with special needs and learning disabilities). I work full time as a bookkeeper, and have been a committed Sunday School teacher in my church for over 20 years. I started running in 2012 at the age of 48, when I went from hiking to power hiking to trail running (read my full story under “about me”). I am also an active Trip Leader and the current President of the Atlanta Outdoor Club (AOC) for the 3rd year, where I lead several outdoor events a week including hiking, biking, trail running and volunteer trail maintenance work.
I want to share my journey to encourage others to follow their goals and dreams no matter how big or small; and to share what I learn along these trails and during my quest. To run 100 miles is far more than anything I had ever done before. The very thought of 100 miles and the training to get there was beyond my imagination. It scares me and humbles me. But I ask you to join with me, Trail Running 100, as I Embrace the Journey. “We can do all things through Him who strengthens us.” Phil 4:13

When do you plan to run the 100? How long do you train, how far out?

My next attempt at 100 miles will be the Pinhoti 100 on Nov 5th in Alabama. I started to really focus on training for it about 3 1/2 months before the race.
